Does God love me?

God loves you.

It does not matter who you are or what you have done, God loves you.

God's love is impartial.

“For God shows no partiality.”
(Romans 2:11 ESV)

God does not show favoritism.

You who believe in God, He loves you.

You who do not believe in God, He loves you.

You who love God, He loves you.

You who hate God, He loves you.

God is Love.

“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
(1 John 4:8 ESV)

Love is what God does.

Everything that God does is an act of love.

God loves his enemies and He wants you to do the same.

“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
(Matthew 5:44–45 ESV)

Are you looking for love?

Then you are looking for God, because God is love.

Do you want to be a loving person?

God is able to make that happen, and will, sooner or later. If you want Him to make you a loving person now, then you need to humble yourself and confess to Him.

When you confess something you acknowledge, admit, concede, or agree that it is true.

Confess what?

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
(John 15:5 ESV)

Confess this: I can't do it on my own. I need You.

“By myself I have sworn. From my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess.’ “Only in the LORD”, it shall be said of me, “are righteousness and strength.” To Him shall come and be ashamed all who were angry with Him.”
(Isaiah 45:23–24 My Translation)

And confess this: You are my only source of righteousness and strength. I need You.

This confession can not be faked. It is not an incantation. You must truly believe what you are confessing.

Having made this confession you then need to seek Him with your whole heart. When you do this, you have His word that you will find Him.

“I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me.”
(Proverbs 8:17 NAS95)

He will give you a deposit of Himself and His love will grow in you.

“Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
(2 Corinthians 5:5 NIV11-GKE)

This is just the beginning. All who have received this deposit look forward to the day when God will complete that which he has started in us. On that day you will have the fullness of God in you, and in so doing God will have made you perfect in His love.

“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.”
(1 John 3:2 ESV)
