Helping Christians in their
Search for Truth

About the Author

I first became a believer in God as a boy under the teaching of my mother. As a man I attended a church congregation that I believed was teaching me biblical truth. When I came to understand that many of the teachings of that church denomination were in fact wrong, I was very shaken up, and I decided I would never let that happen again. From that point on I began looking into the teachings of God myself. I no longer put my trust in men.

The more I learned directly from the one true teacher (the Word of God), the more I began to realize that every church denomination has false teachings. I have not been able to find a single church denomination, near where I live, that only teaches the truth found in the bible.

About the Website

This web site contains a series of articles on a variety of topics that the bible speaks about. The articles will be heavy with bible text. My own words will be used to emphasize, clarify, make corrections to poor English translations, point out the ramifications to what is said, and communicate my reasoning. It is not my intent to introduce any teaching that is not found in the word of God. My goal is to help those, who are seeking the only true God, to know Him and understand the truth He speaks.

You will find a list of links to the articles at the bottom of the pages of this web site.

If you are truly a seeker, of the Truth of God, and you have any questions, then please contact me using the email link at the bottom of the page. Until then may God bless you and keep you in His peace.

What is truth?

Almost 2000 years ago (somewhere between AD 30 and AD 36) Pontius Pilate the governor of the Roman province of Judaea asked Jesus “What is truth?”

Simple Answer

Jesus tells us very clearly what truth is in His prayer to His father God.

“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”
(John 17:17 ESV)

So the simple answer to the question “What is truth?” is that God’s Word is truth.

Complicated Answer

There is however more to understand about the truth. Jesus identified Himself as being the truth.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
(John 14:6 ESV)

If Jesus says that “God’s Word is truth” and says “I am … the truth”, then He is saying that He is the Word of God.

The apostle John testifies that Jesus is the Word of God the only son born to His Father.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
(John 1:14 ESV)

So the complicated answer to the question “What is truth?” is that God’s Word is truth and Jesus is God’s Word.

It is very important to know that Truth, God’s Word, and Jesus, are one and the same. As you grow in knowledge of truth you will discover that it runs even deeper than this.

Power of Truth

What can Truth do?

Below are three questions. If you measure yourself by God’s laws and are honest with yourself you will answer yes to all three.

Are you a slave to sin?

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
(John 8:31–36 ESV)

Truth will set you free from sin.

Are you unclean?

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.”
(Ephesians 5:25–27 ESV)

Truth will make you clean / holy / pure.

Are you dying?

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.”
(John 6:63 ESV)

Truth will give you life.

Truth will set you free form sin, make you clean, give you life, and along with these come hope, joy, peace, and the greatest of all love.

Something to Ponder

John said that Jesus is the Word from God. If you don't know the Word of God, how can you know Jesus? Jesus said, "I am...the Truth." If you don't know the Truth, how can you know Jesus? If you don't know Jesus, will He know you?

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” (Matthew 7:21–23 ESV)
